In this AHRC funded project, we seek to explore how sound design techniques can be used to rethink accessibility to film and television for visually impaired audiences.

I co-edited this peer-reviewed journal paper for the AHRC funded Enhancing Audio Description project.

The module aims to help develop our personal and professional/institutional resident identities on the Web i.e. resident modes of engaging on the Web.

As an academic researcher at the Anglia Ruskin University, I was consulting the Regions of Learning project run by Cambridge City Council. My tasks involved researching hardware and software technologies that allow registering attendance of young adults accessing learning activities at a variety of venues.

I delivered two workshops on setting up a multilingual website with Jekyll, GitHub Pages and a WiredCraft theme at the University of Essex.

My experience in learning and teaching as a non-native in the UK has led me to consider that non-native students in an English-speaking country also suffer a form of socio-economic inequality.

Why make audio for games? What does audio in films and games do?

To find inspiration and examples of good practice, we briefly investigate the moving image culture in historical context with examples of silent films, talkies, studio systems and important musical styles.

Artists have been interested in translating visual information to sound and vica versa. Why do we (they) do this?

A 15 credit module concentrating on aspects of technology that encourage live performance and audio manipulation, this module was designed to provide the knowledge and opportunity for students to create their own performances and sonic installations.

A 15 credit module that allowed students to create original music and sound design that experiments with poetry, short films and video games using acoustic and computer-based methods of composition.

How does a landscape sound? How does a poem sound? A presentation outline with quick ideas for sonification and musification.

Besides events organising and audio post-production, my main task as a research assistant in the StoryLab Research Institute have been to edit, maintain and update our research website that I designed in 2018.

Focus (the prototype) is a musical game that by measuring real-time EEG data aims to help reduce stress. To reward the participant whenever a challenge is completed, the neurofeedback system generates or alters preset and generative musical expressions.
